Suns Giving Mike Budenholzer $10 Million Per Season

Multiple reports have confirmed the Phoenix Suns are indeed hiring former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer to a deal, but more details have come out on the financials.

While the years of the contract haven’t been publicized, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Budenholzer will be paid approximately $10 million per season.

With changes coming to the coaching staff, major changes aren’t expected to be done to the front office concerning members like James Jones.

Less than 24 hours after firing Frank Vogel, the Phoenix Suns are preparing to offer Mike Budenholzer an eight-figure deal to become their next head coach.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Budenholzer is the front-runner to land Phoenix’s job. If hired, he will be the third head coach in three seasons. Monty Williams and Frank Vogel were the other two.

The Suns got swept in the first round against the Minnesota Timberwolves after having a 49-win season.

Mike Budenholzer Headlines Nets Coaching Candidates

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Brooklyn Nets have narrowed in on their coaching search, as it leads to Mike Budenholzer and two other prominent names around the NBA.

Jordi Fernandez, Kevin Young, and Budenholzer will all meet with Joe Tsai before a decision is reached. Reports are speculating a decision to be made relatively soon.

The former Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks coach has head coaching experience; Young and Fernandez have been trying to get a taste of that for the past year.

Fernandez has been with the Sacramento Kings for the past two seasons, and Young has been with the Phoenix Suns for the past three.
