J.B. Bickerstaff’s Job In ‘Serious Jeopardy’
According to both The Athletic’s Shams Charania and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, J.B. Bickerstaff’s time in Cleveland could be coming to an end. Despite having back-to-back postseason runs, the front office will evaluate him over the next few days.
Multiple reports have said that the team will take multiple days to determine how they want to approach this situation, whether they want him back, and whether the players want him back.
Currently, the front office is “fond” of him. However, Donovan Mitchell and potentially others are not as excited about Bickerstaff as others thought they were going to be. Let it be known that he is one of the most successful coaches in franchise history.
Cleveland won a playoff series for the first time since 1993 without LeBron James. In his five sessions with the organization, he has transformed them into a playoff-contending team. This season, including the Boston Celtics series, saw many injuries; despite that, they finished with 48 wins.
Plus, the 45-year-old ranks fifth in franchise history in wins (170) and games (329). His contract isn’t up until after the 2026-27 season.
