According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Cooper Flagg has already signed a shoe deal with New Balance. For those who don’t know, New Balance has superstars like Jamal Murray and Kawhi Leonard.
Now, they’ll be acquiring the future first pick of the 2025 NBA Draft. It’s widely expected to be him, as Flagg has been the center of attention since high school. It’ll continue into Duke and the big leagues.
“The connection with New Balance as a family company and a company with Maine roots means a lot to me,” Flagg told ESPN. “That makes this really different and special. My mom used to go to the tent sale for back-to-school shopping there when we were kids. That really aligns the brand with my roots. It’s a perfect fit.”
Many around the league expect him to be a massive hit for the NBA. That’s no shocker when knowing Flagg was on USA’s Select Team to help Team USA prepare for the Olympics.
It appears New Balance is taking the route they took with Tyrese Maxey and applying to the elite basketball player.
