The San Antonio Spurs set up a legendary interview between Tony Parker and Chris Paul, as during this sit-down, the two point guards talked about a list of topics. One topic was how long the Spurs guard has left in the league.
Overall, Paul said he only has a season or two left in his storied career. He is 39 years old and in his 20th season. Come May 6th, Paul will turn 40 years old.
“Maybe a year or two. I’m still trying to feel it out,” Paul said. “I think the hardest part is—like I love this, like practice today, I love hooping, I love all of that. The hardest part is when I get home and I have to watch my kids’ games on the iPad or whatnot, so that’s the tug of war right now.”
Later in the interview, Paul reflected on his time with the Warriors and the struggles of it all.
“Last year (with the Golden State Warriors) was probably one of the toughest years for me. I just love to hoop. I wanna play. If I’m gonna sacrifice my family and be away from them, then I at least need to be playing,” Paul said.
Since signing with San Antonio, the veteran point guard has started all 24 games averaging 10.2 points and 8.5 assists.
