According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Nuggets traded Hunter Tyson and a 2032 second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets to get out of the luxury tax.
This trade helps Denver in two ways: the first being financial flexibility, second one being the fact they have created an open roster spot ahead of the buyout market.
With Brooklyn taking on the 25-year-old, they will have his team option for the 2026-27 season.
In 21 games this season, Tyson is averaging 2.2 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.7 minutes.
