Lakers acquire Mo Bamba from Magic

The Lakers have made a series of moves during the trade deadline and one of them was trading away Patrick Beverley to acquire Mo Bamba from Orlando.

Both Pat Bev and Russell Westbrook were on the trade block, Westbrook got traded first, and then Beverley followed suit. Los Angeles has decided to trade the defensemen for Mo Bamba.

Bamba gives Los Angeles frontcourt depth around Anthony Davis after trading Thomas Bryant.

Beverley is expected to be bought out of his contract and hit the buyout market; that is where former teammate Westbrook is heading with Reggie Jackson and John Wall.

Celtics-Lakers Is NBA’s Highest Viewed Game In Seven Years

The rivalry is still alive and well with the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers. The NBA have released the numbers for this past Saturday’s spectacle and it was the highest game in seven years.

Quick note, this was the highest viewed game excluding Christmas Day games.

Saturday’s game saw an average of 4.61 million viewers and peaked at 5.3 million viewers.

This game saw Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown take on LeBron James and Luka Doncic; two of the league’s best duos currently.

Despite Los Angeles losing, LeBron and Luka combined for 56 points, 22 rebounds, and 12 assists.

Fans saw Tatum and Brown counteract that with 71 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists.

A very incredible, historic night for a historic rivalry.

LeBron James (Groin) Out At Least 1-2 Weeks

According to the Los Angeles Lakers, confirmed by ESPN’s Shams Charania, LeBron James is out for at least the next week or two after suffering a strained groin.

The injury occurred midway through the fourth quarter of their game against the Boston Celtics. After sustaining the injury, James was ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

For Los Angeles fans, LeBron says this injury isn’t as severe as his 2018 groin injury, which cost him multiple weeks of playing time.

LeBron’s Lakers are 40-22 on the season, with them holding the 2nd seed in the West.

Austin Reaves To Undergo MRI On Calf

According to the Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick, after suffering the injury during their win against the Los Angeles Clippers, Austin Reaves will undergo an MRI to determine the severity.

Reaves suffered the calf injury in the first quarter after playing the first nine minutes of the game. It was determined to be “right calf soreness.”

Even with this diagnosis, Los Angeles will have a more in-depth one to be done to make sure it’s just soreness. Redick did not have an update on when the talented guard would make his return to the court.

The 26-year-old, who is one of the better third options in the league currently, is averaging 19.1 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.2 rebounds this season. In the month of February, Reaves averaged 23.5 points and 6.1 assists.

Los Angeles is fourth in the West with a record of 37-21. Their next game is a rematch against the Clippers on Sunday.
