After winning Game 6 and forcing a win-or-go-home Game 7, the Denver Nuggets could be without Aaron Gordon; an important piece throughout their entire postseason run.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Gordon suffered a left hamstring strain during the final minutes of Game 6. His status for Sunday’s game is officially in “doubt.”

Good news for both the Nuggets and Gordon, the schedule allows them to have an extra day off in-between Game 6 and Game 7. This gives the 29-year-old more opportunities to make the pain less and his hamstring manageable to play minutes.

It should be noted that Gordon has dealt with leg and calf injuries at different parts of the regular season. Unfortunately, his hamstring is now the latest victim of the injury bug.

With Gordon hitting multiple game-winners, averaging 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds, his contributions and overall minutes will be sorely missed if he is unable to play.

In an absolute crazy finish to a classic of a Game 4, Aaron Gordon commented on his game-winning put-back off Nikola Jokic’s missed shot, which confirmed his role with the organization.

“I’m just trying to clean up everything on the glass,” said Gordon about the play.

He got the ball out of his hands just as the red light appeared. We are talking mili-seconds. In fact, it was so close the officials needed several minutes and many different angles of the play to determine if it was good or not.

Referee Zach Zarba said afterwards that there was “clear and conclusive evidence that the ball was out of Gordon’s hands when the red light came on to end the game.”

The series is tied 2-2.

Thursday was the Denver Nuggets Media Day, which saw many things from Russell Westbrook in his new threads to Nikola Jokic still hating Media Day and his goatee. One of the more important takeaways from Thursday was Aaron Gordon’s future comments.

According to the 29-year-old himself, he wants to continue this partnership with Denver and has no plans to leave.

Starting Friday, Gordon can sign a contract extension of up to four years with the Nuggets. This will be his second contract with the organization. After being traded from the Orlando Magic to Denver in 2021, Gordon immediately signed a four-year, $92 million deal.

“I really love this organization,” Gordon said at the team’s media day. “I love the players on this team I love the coaching staff. So I hope we get it done. It seems like it’s moving forward in the right direction. So I’m excited. I’m excited hopefully to be extended and to stay with this organization.”

Gordon has a $22.8 million player option for the 2025-26 season, the same amount of money he is getting paid this season. If a deal isn’t agreed upon and he declines his option, he would undoubtedly be a top free agent for a championship/playoff-contending team.
