Angel Reese Creates History By Breaking Candace Parker's Double-Double Record

The rookie continues to show the world why she is one of the emerging stars in today’s WNBA, as she has broken the record of a legend.

During the Sky’s game against the Storm, Reese recorded her 13th double-double. What makes this so huge is that it was all consecutive, which breaks Candace Parker’s record of twelve straight double-doubles.

Since June 4th, the former 7th overall pick in the 2024 draft has been notching double-doubles.

She almost had the double-double in the first half with nine points and eight rebounds, which is beyond impressive. Reese ended the game with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and four steals.

Angel Reese's Double-Double Streak Has Ended At 15

Angel Reese’s fire has been put out in an incredibly historic stretch, featuring 15 double-doubles, breaking Candace Parker’s record. The Chicago Sky lost to the New York Liberty 81-67.

In their loss, Chicago’s former seventh-overall pick had a relatively poor game. Reese shot 3-13 from the field, resulting in eight points with five fouls. This is brought up to say how limited she was due to a bad shooting night and foul calls against her.

Even though the 22-year-old struggled from the field, her rebounding presence was still in full effect. She ended the game with 16 rebounds.

Towards the end of the game, with less than 20 seconds, New York made it their mission not to allow Reese to get an “easy bucket” to continue her streak. Four players surrounded her.
