LeBron James, Anthony Davis Frustrated After Losing Game 2
The Los Angeles Lakers are 0-2 to begin their series with the Denver Nuggets, and these two games have been very rough. In Game 1, they gave up a 12-point lead to Nikola Jokic and lost by 11 points. However, Game 2 was definitely the worst game they’ve played this season.
After an incredible first half in which Anthony Davis was unconscious with 24 points and Los Angeles stunned the fans in Denver, Davis didn’t score another bucket after the seven-minute mark of the third quarter and only attempted one shot in the fourth quarter.
This led to fanbases witnessing Jamal Murray and Jokic fuel a 20-point comeback, which finished with an incredible Murray game-winner. LeBron missed the potential game-winning shot, as that would have altered the final shot attempt by Denver.
There were even some head-scratching officiating calls, which did hurt the Lakers and D’Angelo Russell.
When at the press conference, several members of the Lakers told everyone how they felt. Everyone could feel the tension and anger in the room.
Here are the top quotes from the night:
“I don’t understand what’s going on in the replay center, to be honest… What the —- do we have a replay center… Makes no sense to me. It bothers me.”
LeBron couldn’t believe the refs overturned the blatant foul on D’Angelo Russell
“We have stretches where we just don’t know what we’re doing on both ends of the floor.”
Anthony Davis was speechless when having to relive these events
“Jamal Murray made a shot.”
Anthony Davis was furious when asked to describe what happened at the end of the game
The Lakers and Nuggets face off Thursday night in Los Angeles for Game 3.
