Ben Simmons Out For Unspecified Time
Per the Brooklyn Nets, Simmons will be out for an unknown amount of time until the team can determine the best treatment for his back injury. He is dealing with a nerve impingement in his back.
It should be mentioned that Ben Simmons hasn’t played since the final game before the All-Star break; his absence was caused by knee and back injuries.
Jacque Vaughn, head coach of the Nets, still believes the team won’t be shutting Simmons down any time soon this season.
“Definitely operating under that belief,” Vaughn said, when asked directly if he’s expecting Simmons to play again this season. “There’s zero discussions about him not playing. We expect him to be back, waiting for him to be back, watching the last Sacramento game, it was great to see him and his physicality versus [Kings All-Star Domantas] Sabonis last time, so looking forward to seeing that again, for sure.”
Ben Simmons is averaging 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game in 26.3 minutes.
