According to multiple reports, spearheaded by Arizona Republic’s Duane Rankin, Bradley Beal and the Phoenix Suns are actively discussing a potential buyout that will officially end their partnership after two seasons.
Beal has two years left on his contract, totaling $110 million. It’s unclear the exact number they may agree to, but Phoenix is ready to get off his contract and free themselves up financially.
Teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors have shown interest in acquiring him, if he’s bought out and a free agent. Beyond the money and injury history of Beal, that no-trade clause is keeping teams away from trading for him.
Last season, the 32-year-old averaged 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.1 steals. His PPG is the second-worst in his career, his first would have been his rookie season with 13.9 points per game.
In the 53 games he played last season, fans also saw his field goal percentage, three-point percentage, assists, and rebounds take a dip from the previous years.
Beal’s injury history has continued to get worse as time goes on, as the veteran guard has not played 60 or more games since the 2020-21 season.
