Celtics Hire Jeff Van Gudy As A Senior Consultant

Jeff Van Gundy has gone from working as a broadcaster for ESPN to making a return as an active member of a franchise.

After 11 seasons as a head coach and 16 seasons as a broadcaster, Van Gundy will assume a role he’s never possessed before as Boston’s senior consultant.

With the Celtics hiring him, Van Gundy is expected to work with the front office and coaching staff. Plus, as an additional bonus, he’ll work with the Miami Celtics – Boston’s G League team.

With all that said, the 61-year-old will not have an active role in day-to-day activities involving the Celtics bench as a part of his coaching staff role.

According to multiple reports, led by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Boston Celtics are adding Lonnie Walker IV to their team.

The 25-year-old is signing a one-year deal as a prove-it deal to the league that he can ball and be a useful piece to a championship/playoff contending team.

In 58 games for the Brooklyn Nets, Walker averaged 9.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. His shooting splits were 42.3% from the field and 38.4% from behind the arc.

Jaylen Brown Done Celebrating: 'It's Back To Work'

After months of recharging the batteries and celebrating winning the 2024 NBA Championship, Jaylen Brown is ready to get back to work.

While some would want to savor the moment until forced to defend it, Brown wholeheartedly embraces it.

“Last year is over, to be honest. We celebrated, we had a good time. It’s been an awesome summer. I’ve been having a great summer, by the way. But it’s over with it,” Brown said. “Now we got the target on our back. Everybody’s trying to come after us and I’m like, ‘Come on.’ It’s back to work. And I’m looking forward to next season.”
