Dan Hurley Rejects The Lakers; He Will Return To UConn
In a ground-breaking story, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported Dan Hurley to be returning to UConn after declining the Los Angeles Lakers’ offer to become their newest head coach.
General Manager Rob Pelinka offered Hurley a six-year, $70 million contract; however, the 51-year-old wants to win a third-straight championship with the Huskies. This promotes incredible loyalty and love for UConn after knowing he could have made more money in the NBA and a chance to coach a storied basketball franchise.
A “compelling vision” and a “compelling case” were pitched to Hurley, but no matter how many weeks they met, it would never happen. They’ll now go back to JJ Redick and see if he wants to coach the Lakers.
