According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the San Antonio Spurs will be making De’Aaron Fox’s potential Game 3 return a “game time decision.” This has consistently been the case for Game 1 and Game 2 of their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Fox has been dealing with a right high ankle sprain since the second round of the postseason, as the 28-year-old played through the injury and then aggravated said injury in their closeout performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 6.

In 72 games this season, Fox has averaged 18.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 31.0 minutes.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the San Antonio Spurs and De’Aaron Fox have agreed to a four-year, $229 million contract extension.

The Spurs traded for Fox after he requested out of the Sacramento Kings during last season’s trade deadline. San Antonio was his preferred choice.

Nor a player or team option has been included to this deal.

Fox averaged 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists in 17 games with the organization.

According to multiple reports, ultimately confirmed by the man himself, De’Aaron Fox absolutely wants to sign an extension with the San Antonio Spurs to continue their partnership.

Fox is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, as he has completed his five-year, $163 million contract that he signed back in 2021 with the Sacramento Kings. This was his designated rookie contract.

The 27-year-old is eligible to sign a four-year, $228.6 million extension. There have been speculated rumors of both sides wanting this not to be a one-and-done type relationship.

Fox has been recovering very well from surgery on his left pinkie finger.
