Hawks Have No Interest In Trading Trae Young
The Atlanta Hawks will remain loyal to their franchise player after rumors and speculation arose of what would happen to Trae Young, especially after Atlanta wanted to remodel their entire roster.
Zach Lowe of ESPN has shot down any rumor or report saying Trae Young is available; Atlanta is not even considering listening to potential offers. General manager Landry Fields has made Dejounte Murray widely available and Clint Capela open in the trade market.
Trading away Young would start a massive rebuild that would make no sense, one reason being that they still owe first-round picks to the San Antonio Spurs due to the Murray trade. They’ll have no draft capital, no franchise player, and beginning their journey as a true poverty team.
Young signed a five-year, $215 million extension with the Hawks in 2021. He is signed through 2025-26 and has a player option for 2026-27.
