According to ESPN, the Miami Heat have no interest in taking Bradley Beal’s contract when discussing the possibility of Jimmy Butler trade talks with the Phoenix Suns.
If Phoenix wants to acquire Butler, they must find a third team. This would be to eliminate Beal’s massive contract, in which he is owed $110 million over the next two seasons and has a no-trade clause attached.
Miami is an apron team, so they can’t take back more salary in a deal. For them, this is going to make their lives more complicated in trading the talented veteran.
For the Suns, Mat Ishbia and James Jones will have to act fast if they want him, as Pat Riley wants Butler gone “as soon as possible.”
There is still a wide range of teams who want Butler. As a side note, the Heat has suspended the 35-year-old for seven games due to misconduct and how he’s handled this situation the past couple of weeks.
