According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, confirmed by the organization, the Miami Heat has traded Haywood Highsmith and a 2032 second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for a conditional 2026 second-round pick.

Miami completed this trade to get underneath the tax line for the upcoming season; this follows after it was reported the 28-year-old had knee surgery earlier this month and was looking to be out eight-to-ten weeks.

Highsmith appeared in 74 games averaging 6.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

Haywood Highsmith Agrees To Return To The Heat

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Miami Heat and Haywood Highsmith have agreed to a deal to have him return to the franchise. He’s been with them since 2021.

The 27-year-old is signing a two-year, $11 million contract. No player or team option is attached, as this deal is fully guaranteed.

Last season, Highsmith appeared in 66 games and averaged 6.1 points and 3.2 rebounds.
