James Harden: “It’s Literally Out Of My Control”
Shams Charania was the first to report on Harden’s quotes regarding the current situation and they aren’t pretty.
The 34-year-old had plans to retire as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, something he had wanted to do since getting traded from the Brooklyn Nets to Philadelphia.
Never once did James Harden mention Daryl Morey by name, Morey was referred to as “the front office”. This shouldn’t be shocking when he responded “no” to being asked if this relationship with him can be fixed.
“It’s not even about this situation. This is about life. When you lose trust in someone… It’s like a marriage. When you lose trust in someone… It’s pretty simple.”
Their days started in Houston when both of them were having great times with the Rockets, now fast forward and you’ll see an ugly divorce.
“When I got traded here, my whole thing was to retire as a Sixer,” said Harden. “I wanted to be here and retire a Sixer. The front office didn’t have that in their plans. It’s literally out of my control.”
Harden continues to seek a trade from the franchise. Still, reports have continued to speculate this situation goes well into the upcoming season – if the 76ers are eyeing a bigger prize than simply getting rid of the vet guard for some solid pieces.
