According to the Philadelphia 76ers, Jared McCain will be shut down for the remainder of the season after further reevaluation by the surgeon who did the operation.
Rookie McCain suffered a torn meniscus and had the procedure on December 17th, as Philly said the recovery was going well. However, they will be indeed resting him until next season.
At one point in this season, the 20-year-old was considered Rookie of the Year due to his impressive performances throughout the 23 games.
In those games, McCain averaged 15.3 points off 46.0 FG%, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
On November 13th, fans saw McCain get a career-high 34 points and a career-high 10 assists against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He won Rookie of the Month for the Eastern Conference in November.
