According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Miami Heat are now listening to trade offers concerning Jimmy Butler.
With Miami being a mediocre team and struggling to extend Butler to a contract extension, they may see this as the perfect time to trade him away.
The 35-year-old is entering next offseason with a player option, which sees him making $52.4 million. This season, Butler is making $48.8 million.
If Miami decides to trade him, the veteran wing has given his three teams of choice: the Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, or Houston Rockets. Butler is from Texas, where two of the three listed teams are from.
Plus, all three teams are contending franchises. This is important to Butler, as he wants to win a championship before riding off into the sunset.
This season, Butler averages 19.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 17 games.
