Kawhi Leonard Has Torn Meniscus In Right Knee

It has been revealed that Clippers’ star Kawhi Leonard torn his meniscus in his right knee. This breaking news has been confirmed by the organization.

Leonard played the first two games of the opening-round against the Phoenix Suns, suffering the injury in Game 1 and playing through it in Game 2. Los Angeles for the remainder of the series listed him as day-to-day, but he never played another game due to the injury.

Leonard suffered a partially torn ACL during the 2021 playoffs, which led him to miss the entire 2021-22 season.

Los Angeles Clippers head coach Ty Lue appeared on Marc Stein’s podcast where he gave fans a good update on Leonard’s and George’s health heading into training camp.

“They’re both on track to be 100% by the time training camp starts, and that’s what we need,” Lue said. “You know, our best players will be healthy, and we’ve just been in an unfortunate situation where our two best players (haven’t had) a full season together the last three years and that’s been tough on us.”

Both of the aging superstars were held to under 60 games last season, injuries ultimately killed the Clippers in the postseason. Despite the strong performance of Russell Westbrook against the Phoenix Suns.

However, last year was last year and it appears both players are ready to turn the chapter in their storybook journey with Los Angeles.

Training camp opens up on September 27th.
