Kristaps Porzingis has taken to social media to let the fans know what exactly is happening and why he has been missing so many games.
The long in short of the answer is an illness that hasn’t been fully identified by medical staff. It’s still unknown how long he will miss, or what exactly is causing him to have this illness. Porzingis has been out since February 26th.
“I have been dealing with some viral illness that we haven’t been able to fully identify yet,” Porzingis posted on the social media site during Monday’s game between the Celtics and Jazz in Boston. “I am recovering and getting better. But still working my way back to full [strength] to help this team. Thanks for support and [I’m] hoping for a healthy return soon.”
The Boston Celtics played the Utah Jazz Monday, which saw no Porzingis. According to Boston’s injury list, the 29-year-old is listed as “questionable” for Wednesday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder – a highly anticipated game.
Due to this viral illness and him missing time due to the ankle surgery recovery, Porzingis has only played in 32 games this season. Boston has 17 games remaining before they begin their postseason adventure.
