Landry Shamet Expected To Make The Knicks Roster

According to The Athletic’s Fred Katz, the New York Knicks will most likely keep Landry Shamet on their roster after having him go through a roster battle with other players.

Since New York is up against the hard cap, they’ll only be able to get Shamet and a rookie on a minimum salary on their roster.

“I don’t make the final decision on that, but I’m basing it on what [Shamet’s] done on the floor. He’s really done well,” Thibodeau said.

Tom Thibodeau loved what he saw from Shamet and wants him on the roster. An official decision should be made soon.

Mitchell Robinson Returning Within The Next Week

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the New York Knicks will see their center make his season debut within the next week.

Mitchell Robinson has completed multiple full scrimmages recently, as he has one more scheduled with the intention of him being cleared to return.

The 26-year-old has been out since Game 1 of their second round matchup against the New York Knicks. Robinson has been dealing with an ankle injury, which involved surgery, and has been rehabbing for months to get to this point.

New York hopes his return will add a nice addition, a boost, to their frontcourt.

According to multiple reports, the New York Knicks have discovered that Karl-Anthony Towns not only has a sprain but a bone chip in his right thumb.

His right hand is his shooting hand. There is good news, though: Towns is willing to play through the injury. This injury doesn’t require surgery during or after the season.

Towns missed Wednesday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Jericho Sims started in his absence.

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks and Shams Charania, the New York Knicks are waiving Landry Shamet after he suffered a dislocated right shoulder.

The 27-year-old agreed to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 9 contract earlier in the offseason; many within the organization expected him to make the roster and have quality minutes. However, this injury has derailed those plans.

New York has three roster spots available; they must sign two players to meet the required 14-player roster.

When Shamet gets healthy, they will consider bringing him back.
