According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Minnesota Timberwolves have traded Rob Dillingham, Leonard Miller, and four second round picks to the Chicago Bulls for Ayo Dosunmu and Julian Phillips.
The Timberwolves made this move to improve their backcourt and strengthen it for Anthony Edwards. It’s expected Dosunmu signs an extension in the offseason, as he is a soon-to-be restricted free agent.
Dillingham will get his chance to prove to the league that he can play high-level basketball at his position, as many have seen the 21-year-old as expandable due to his limited playing time and inconsistent performances.
In 45 games this season, Dosunmu is averaging 15.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.
In 35 games this season, Dillingham is averaging 3.5 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.
