Luka Doncic Is "Probable" For Monday Lakers Debut

According to the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Doncic is most likely playing in Monday night’s game against the Utah Jazz. This would be his debut game.

Officially on the injury report, he is listed as “probable.” ESPN has already put the game on their televised schedule, and Los Angeles is giving every fan in attendance a Doncic jersey.

With all these updates before the game, he will play. Unless something significant comes up as a setback, fans tonight will see the debut of the 25-year-old franchise leader.

According to The Athletic’s Dan Woike, the Los Angeles Lakers have legitimate interest in signing former Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga to a deal for the upcoming season.

Kuminga became a free agent this offseason after Atlanta declined his $24.3 million team option.

In 16 games with the Hawks, the 23-year-old averaged 12.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.

Los Angeles is currently looking to fill the need of perimeter defense from a young, athletic wing player.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz have agreed on a trade that sends Walker Kessler to Los Angeles to become Luka Doncic’s newest center. By getting this trade done, the Lakers get a huge request asked by Doncic filled.

Official trade details see the Lakers acquiring Kessler while giving up unprotected first round picks in 2031 and 2033 along with first round pick swaps in 2028 and 2030 to the Jazz.

Reportedly, Utah was expected to match any offer sheet Kessler signed in restricted free agency, which then ultimately led to the negotiation of a sign-and-trade that saw them getting quality draft capital back in return.

Kessler signed a four-year, $130 million deal with the Lakers.

The 24-year-old appeared in just five games last season due to a torn labrum in his left shoulder back in November.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, LeBron James has told the Los Angeles Lakers that he has no intentions of signing a new contract with the organization and he wants to play for a new team.

“It was time to move on,” a source close to James told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
