According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Dallas Mavericks are bracing for the reality of missing their star player for an extended period.
Luka Doncic had an early exit in their Christmas Day game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after suffering a calf injury in the first half. Once he went to the locker room, he never returned.
The 25-year-old left the arena in crutches, as it’s expected he completes an MRI Thursday.
Earlier in October, Doncic had a contusion on the same calf. This has been a reoccurring injury for some points in his career.
Doncic has played in 22 of the 30 available games for Dallas this season.
