Luka Doncic Wants To Play For Real Madrid Again

When his career is over in the NBA, many should expect to see Luka Doncic in Europe playing for Real Madrid.

Even though the Dallas Mavericks lost their preseason game to Real Madrid, Doncic appeared to have the best time of his basketball life.

“I’ve got a lot of great memories and I’m happy to be back,” Doncic said. “If I return to Europe one day, I’m sure it will be to Real Madrid. That’s 100%.”

He talked to the media before the game and started talking about Real Madrid and how excited he’s been for this opportunity to play in Europe again.

For those who don’t know, Doncic began his journey playing overseas at a very young age. The Mavericks’ superstar was a megastar back in Europe and that is what hooked so many people into watching him and projecting him as a top-three pick in his respective draft class.

While the 24-year-old only played 5 minutes, he did put up 9 points on 3-6 shooting.

Luka Doncic Spent His All-Star Break Away From Basketball

How did Luka Doncic spend his All-Star break? According to the man himself, he got away from basketball and focused his mind on anything that wasn’t NBA-related.

While he was “excited to get back to playing,” the superstar player wanted time away after being traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers.

“Honestly, I was getting my mind off basketball a little bit,” Doncic said Wednesday. “But, I’m just excited to come back and play. I missed a lot of time. I’ve never missed this much time. So, it’s something new to me. But I was just excited to get back to playing.”

This is the second time in his career he wasn’t made an All-Star. The first being his rookie season and the second being the current season.

Since joining LeBron James and Los Angeles, the 25-year-old is averaging 14.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.

Doncic missed Thursday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets due to the calf injury, but is expected to play in Saturday’s game against the Denver Nuggets.

According to the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Doncic is most likely playing in Monday night’s game against the Utah Jazz. This would be his debut game.

Officially on the injury report, he is listed as “probable.” ESPN has already put the game on their televised schedule, and Los Angeles is giving every fan in attendance a Doncic jersey.

With all these updates before the game, he will play. Unless something significant comes up as a setback, fans tonight will see the debut of the 25-year-old franchise leader.

Mark Cuban Told Nico Harrison Not To Trade Luka Doncic

According to Marc Stein, the former Dallas Mavericks owner told general manager Nico Harrison not to trade Luka Doncic.

Mark Cuban “urged” Harrison not to ship Doncic to Los Angeles for Anthony Davis. He’s always been pro-Doncic, going as far as to joke that he would divorce his wife first before getting rid of Doncic.

However, it was too late when the 66-year-old found out about the deal. It was already verbally agreed upon with the Lakers’ general manager, Rob Pelinka.

Cuban’s plan for Doncic was for him to be like Dirk Nowitzki, where he spent his entire career with Dallas.
