Klay Thompson Signs $50 Million Deal With Mavericks

According to multiple reports, the Dallas Mavericks have come to an agreement with Klay Thompson for him to join the likes of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.

The deal is set for three years worth $50 million, including a player option. For reference on other offers coming across Thompson’s phone, the Los Angeles Lakers were prepared to offer him a four-year, $80 million deal.

While Dallas has agreed to a contract with Thompson, Golden State is still finalizing the terms of the sign-and-trade that would land the four-time champion in Dallas. It would also take the willingness of the Charlotte Hornets to get this deal done. For the Hornets, Josh Green was sent to them.

However, multiple insiders have noted that this deal should be completed soon, and the terms of this trade/agreement will be publicized.

Per Brett Siegel, Klay Thompson will be a member of the Dallas Mavericks no matter what.

Kristaps Porzingis Available For Game 5

According to the Boston Celtics, Kristaps Porzingis has been upgraded to “available” for tonight’s Game 5 against the Dallas Mavericks. In a do-or-die situation for Dallas and a situation where Boston can secure another banner.

He’s been dealing with a torn medial retinaculum allowing the dislocation of the posterior tibialis tendon in his left leg. It’s been classified as a “rare injury.”

Joe Mazzulla says he expects to see the 28-year-old get some minutes during tonight’s game. A couple of hours ago, Mazzulla said he didn’t know how healthy he was or if he could play. The team has clarified that and publicly said he can play.
