According to the Dallas Mavericks, the organization plans on reevaluating their newly acquired Anthony Davis in two weeks.

Davis suffered a left adductor strain in his debut game against the Houston Rockets on February 8th. Dallas says he is making good progress through recovery.

It remains unclear when he will return to the Mavericks.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Dallas Mavericks will be without their starting center for at least six weeks doe to a MCL sprain.

Daniel Gafford suffered the Grade 3 MCL sprain during Monday’s game against the Sacramento Kings in the second quarter.

The injury-riddled Mavericks are now without him, Anthony Davis, Dwight Powell, and Dereck Lively II. Their entire frontcourt has been banged up .

For Davis, he is expected to be out at least four weeks due to an adductor strain. For Lively, he remains in a walking boot due to a stress fracture in his right ankle.

According to Marc Stein, the former Dallas Mavericks owner told general manager Nico Harrison not to trade Luka Doncic.

Mark Cuban “urged” Harrison not to ship Doncic to Los Angeles for Anthony Davis. He’s always been pro-Doncic, going as far as to joke that he would divorce his wife first before getting rid of Doncic.

However, it was too late when the 66-year-old found out about the deal. It was already verbally agreed upon with the Lakers’ general manager, Rob Pelinka.

Cuban’s plan for Doncic was for him to be like Dirk Nowitzki, where he spent his entire career with Dallas.
