Mitchell Robinson (Ankle) Is Returning After Missing 50 Games
The New York Knicks will be getting back their 25-year-old center, who has been out since December 8th and could look to assert him back into the lineup in Wednesday’s game.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed these reports, but many fans were shocked to see his name come off the injury report. Why? New York originally filed for a disabled player exception, which the league denied, to give them more ability to find a replacement.
He was supposed to be out for the remainder of the season; however, he has healed quickly enough to play a couple of weeks before the postseason begins.
“Mitchell is moving quite well,” Thibodeau said ahead of Monday’s win over the Detroit Pistons. “He’s cleared for contact and all that. He’s going through practices and so just needs a little more time. But he’s doing really well overall.”
With Mitchell returning, the team hopes to get OG Anunoby and Julius Randle back soon as well.
