Nets wary of trading an all-time low Ben Simmons
Brooklyn gave up a lot to get Ben Simmons, a player who hasn’t played since 2020 when with the 76ers. The Nets got him in that massive Harden-Simmons trade that had the NBA World buzzing. Overall, since joining the Nets, the 26-year-old has not played a game for the Nets. Why? Because of back injuries/surgery and other reasons.
His name has been popping up a lot as a potential piece in a two-way or three-way trade; this comes after the Kevin Durant news broke and that emerged into Donovan Mitchell to the Nets rumors through a three-way trade with the Phoenix Suns. A lot of rumors. In short, Simmons was spinning through the cycle of rumors of potentially being traded.
However, Brooklyn is not in favor of trading him. Not because they see him as the future of this team, no, it is because of his trade value. With his trade value being at an all-time low, the front office does not have any desire to trade him. They don’t see him as a throw-in piece, sadly, that is his current value – a throw-in piece.
Currently, the Nets are not thrilled to throw him into a trade and are (in a way) uneasy about doing so. So, with all that being said, Nets fans will be seeing Ben Simmons next season – as Brooklyn has no choice unless a team bellies up and goes beyond his market value.
