Rich Paul: ‘LeBron Won’t Be Traded’
David Pingalore, KTLA Sports Anchor and Reporter, said on Thursday that the Los Angeles Lakers were going to trade LeBron James. Los Angeles has him at the top of their list of players to trade, and a suitor is close to being found.
However, Rich Paul, James’s agent, said these rumors were false. He will honor his remaining contract with the team and become an unrestricted free agent next offseason – if he declines the player option attached.
“LeBron won’t be traded, and we aren’t asking to be,” Rich Paul said on ESPN.
If the Lakers trade LeBron, it’ll come at an expensive price tag. Teams will have to match his $47.6 million owed this season, which means many assets (or one enormous asset) must be given up to acquire him.
This speculation began when James posted a cryptic post on X, which amassed 27.4 million views. It has now trickled into “rumors” shared around the league and those close to the NBA.
