According to multiple reports, highlighted by Marc Stein, Mikal Bridges becomes eligible to sign a two-year, $72.5 million extension with the New York Knicks on October 1st.

The 3-and-D wing currently has two options: he can sign this contract on the first or wait until next season to be paid $112.9 million over three seasons.

Per Stein, he expects the 28-year-old to sign the $72.5 million extension with New York. However, if Bridges wanted to make more money, he could wait till the 2026 season to be eligible to sign a five-year, $297 million contract.

With all these options on the floor (pun intended), every sign points towards him signing the two-year extension.

Bridges has until the start of the season to sign this extension.

According to The Athletic’s Fred Katz, teams around the league don’t value Julius Randle the same way the New York Knicks do. That means his trade value isn’t as great as New York’s management thinks.

There’s always been a sense of whether Randle was a franchise player or a player that could have any role in this organization; it got increasingly louder when they went on a playoff run without the 29-year-old last season.

“I don’t believe there is a team in the NBA that would value the three-time All-Star more than the Knicks do,” writes Fred Katz at The Athletic. 

Katz continued to say that there’s only “neutral” interest in Randle, and that’s “at best.” This is heartbreaking to hear if you are a fan of the Knicks and want him gone.

Randle has one year left on his contract before deciding whether to exercise his option. If he opts into the option in 2025-26, it’ll cost New York $30.9 million.

According to the New York Knicks and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Precious Achiuwa has agreed to a new deal with New York. He appeared in 49 games last season after being traded from the Toronto Raptors to the Knicks.

The 24-year-old is signing a one-year, $6 million deal to stay with New York after a successful showing last season on both sides. New York made a nice run in the postseason, before injuries, and Achiuwa averaged 7.6 points and 7.2 rebounds for them.

In 2025, he will be an unrestricted free agent.
