According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the New Orleans Pelicans have signed free agent Jalen McDaniels to a contract. The terms of the deal is currently unknown.

New Orleans had an open roster spot and was $4.2 million under the luxury tax line, which allowed them to sign the 27-year-old.

In 38 G League games last season, McDaniels averaged 13.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

Despite the good numbers, he only managed to play in six NBA games with the Washington Wizards last season.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, confirmed by the organization, the Miami Heat has traded Haywood Highsmith and a 2032 second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for a conditional 2026 second-round pick.

Miami completed this trade to get underneath the tax line for the upcoming season; this follows after it was reported the 28-year-old had knee surgery earlier this month and was looking to be out eight-to-ten weeks.

Highsmith appeared in 74 games averaging 6.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

According to multiple reports, after what looked like to be a serious injury suffered by Luka Doncic has turned out to not be the case at all.

During Slovenia’s EuroBasket leadup game against Latvia on Saturday, one of his teammates crashed into his legs and made him fall to the floor during the third quarter of the game. He was seen favoring his right leg.

Despite what looked to be a serious injury has be ruled a right knee contusion. Doncic is expected to return to practice and resume playing basketball on Monday.

The team held him out for the rest of the game for cautionary reasons, Doncic reportedly wanted back into the game.

It is unclear if he will be in their game against Great Britain on Tuesday, as the team continues to evaluate all their options regarding his injury.
