According to Marc Stein, the New York Knicks have shown legit interest in Ben Simmons and wanted him on their team, however, the 29-year-old rejected their contract offer.
With New York only able to offer minimum contracts, Simmons didn’t want that, as he is looking for a contract that is above league minimum.
Last week, reports came out that Simmons former agent, Bernie Lee, no longer wanted to represent him and decided to cut ties.
The 2024-25 season saw Simmons only playing in 51 games with the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets. During that span, he averaged 5.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 22.0 minutes.
Since Simmons does not want to sign with the Knicks, the only other team who should legit interest in him are the Boston Celtics.
