Sixers Want Another All-Star Guard

The Philadelphia 76ers want to flip the assets in the James Harden trade to get another All-Star guard to pair alongside Joel Embiid and their backcourt.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, if Philadelphia does send Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers, then they’ll use L.A.’s assets to secure a big replacement for Harden.

However, because the asking price is significantly higher than what the market commands, it’ll most likely be a slower process and go well into the season before the first deal comes together.

Daryl Morey is motivated to keep this Philly team strong, and even stronger, for a push for a deep playoff run. They consider themselves a championship-contending franchise.

Paul George Says He's Playing Through Pain

According to the man himself, Paul George has been playing through pain in order to play this season. He says the reports are “true.”

Originally, reports came out that the veteran was taking painkilling injections on a regular basis to have the ability to play in games.

“I’m hanging in there,” George said after the Sixers home loss to the Boston Celtics. “I’m just trying to give this team everything I have.

“The report is true. I’m taking some sorts of medicines to kind of, I guess, play through pain. But yeah, I’m going to try to give everything I got.”

George has missed 19 games this season dealing with different injuries concerning his knee, ankle, groin, and now finger.

Sixers Thought About Signing Ben Simmons

According to Jake Fischer, a reunion between Philadelphia and Ben Simmons was explored by the 76ers.

Before the former Rookie of the Year winner signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers expressed interest in him. Even Philly had slightly expressed interest in him.

The last time Simmons was in a Sixers’ jersey was back in 2022, before he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets for James Harden. Neither players remain on Philly.

In this season for Brooklyn, the 28-year-old averaged 6.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. In his debut game for the Clippers, he put up 12.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 3.0 steals, and a block.

Paul George (Finger) Is Day-To-Day

According to the Philadelphia 76ers, Paul George will be considered “day-to-day) due to an injury to the extensor tendon in his left fifth finger. An MRI uncovered the injury.

His evaluation period will be through the next couple of days to determine whether he can return or needs more time.

The 34-year-old suffered the injury during Saturday’s game after playing 13 minutes; he sat out the second quarter before medical staff determined him to be out for the remainder of the game.
