Sixers Want Both Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Paul George

According to Marc Stein, the Philadelphia 76ers are working a dream scenario where they can land both Paul George and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Both are unrestricted free agents.

Caldwell-Pope opted out of his $15.4 million option with the Denver Nuggets, and it doesn’t look like he will return to the franchise. Calvin Booth is preparing for the team to lose one of the best 3-And-D wing players, but they’ll have some money to make moves.

For Philly, they have the cap space to land both and give George the maximum contract he desperately wants. The Sixers can offer George a four-year, $212 million deal. It’s only $9 million less than what the Los Angeles Clippers can offer him; however, Trent Redden does not want to pay George that money.

According to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, Paul George is reportedly a member of Philadelphia. Thus, it looks like the door to an L.A. return is ruled out. If they can get KCP, that would be a tremendous bonus.

Rival Execs Believe Jimmy Butler Could Be Heading To Philly

Despite Jimmy Butler having two years left on his current deal, the 34-year-old wants a contract extension that may be a little too high for Pat Riley and the Miami Heat.

He is eligible for a two-year, $113 million extension to tack onto the remaining one-year left on the deal with a player option in 2025-26.

Even though he took the Heat to the Finals two times during his tenure (2020, 2023), Miami’s position on giving him more guaranteed money is unknown. If they decide not to extend him, then rival executives believe the Philadelphia 76ers will trade for Butler for a “family reunion.”

This is according to Marc Stein, as it’s believed Daryl Morey wants to add another piece to go with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid, almost running it back with Butler after a current five-year break.

Rival teams will keep their eye on Philly and Miami, especially since Morey has more than $60 million to play with and a roster to build for championships.

With no strings attached, Tobias Harris is looking to leave the Philadelphia 76ers with his contract officially expiring. According to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, he’s going to test his luck in free agency.

Since signing a massive five-year, $180 million deal in 2019 with the Sixers, fans will be wondering what type of market he can command. The 31-year-old has been the source of frustration for Philly fans, especially this season.

Rumors have been circulating since the trade deadline of what would happen to Harris, many suspected him to be leaving no matter the outcome of this year’s postseason run.

For the past couple of months, the Detroit Pistons have been linked to swaying the veteran forward to join Monty Williams’ team.
