Stephen Curry OUT for multiple weeks

Per the Warriors, through the MRI, Curry’s knee is messed up as he suffered partial tears to the superior tibiofibular ligaments and the interosseous membrane. He’s expected to be out through the All-Star Break.

However, more clarity will be given on how serious the injury is and how long he’ll be out in the coming days. All that is known is that someone will need to replace Curry’s All-Star spot and the Warriors will be missing Curry as they’ll have to truck on without him.

Stephen Curry has missed 11 games this season due to a shoulder injury, Golden State went 6-5 in that stretch. The team is currently in the Play-In Tournament.

Max Strus (Ankle Sprain) Out Six Weeks

According to the Cleveland Cavaliers, confirmed by multiple reports, Max Strus has suffered a right ankle sprain and will be out for the next six weeks.

The injury occurred during an individual workout this past Thursday.

While it is devastating that Strus is out, a door may open for rookie Jaylon Tyson, who has been impressive since the Summer League, to get some playing time.

Isaac Okoro and Caris LeVert will definitely see an increase in minutes due to this injury.

In his first season with Cleveland, Strus played in 70 games, averaging 12.2 points (career-high), 4.8 rebounds (career-high), 4.0 assists (career-high), and 0.9 steals (career-high).

The talented wing is 28 years of age.

Lonnie Walker Waived By The Celtics

According to multiple reports, the Boston Celtics have waived Lonnie Walker. He signed an Exhibit 10 contract earlier in the offseason.

Head coach Joe Mazzulla loved the work Walker showed the team during training camp and the preseason; however, if Boston were to sign him to their roster for the season, it would have cost them $11 million in salary. That would have been before the tax penalties.

President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens told the 25-year-old how difficult it would have been to make the team due to money and depth. Even with all that, Walker still opted to sign with them and show them his skills.

With the type of contract he has signed, if Walker doesn’t find another team to sign with, he can play for the Maine Celtics of the G League.

In 322 career games, Walker averaged 9.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 20.3 minutes.

Knicks Waive Landry Shamet

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks and Shams Charania, the New York Knicks are waiving Landry Shamet after he suffered a dislocated right shoulder.

The 27-year-old agreed to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 9 contract earlier in the offseason; many within the organization expected him to make the roster and have quality minutes. However, this injury has derailed those plans.

New York has three roster spots available; they must sign two players to meet the required 14-player roster.

When Shamet gets healthy, they will consider bringing him back.
