Scottie Barnes suffered a severe-looking foot injury against the New York Knicks in the third quarter of a contested game.

The injury occurred when Barnes tried blocking Karl-Anthony Towns’ shot from behind, which forced both players to collide. Immediately after landing on the ground, the 23-year-old grabbed his right foot and said he couldn’t feel it.

He needed assistance back to the locker room, as he couldn’t bear any weight on that injured foot.

According to the team, Toronto assessed him with a sprained ankle; now, the severity of this sprain is yet to be known. An MRI will be needed to determine the significance.

Before the injury, in 22 minutes, Barnes got 15 points off 5/11 shooting from the field. He also secured five rebounds and three assists.

According to the NBA, they have fined Jaylen Brown $25,000 for making a gesture that saw him taking his thumb/hand across his throat in a slashing interpretation.

The throat-slashing gesture came after he posterized Isaiah Stewart in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game.

For those wondering, the league deemed it an “inappropriate gesture.”

According to the Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, Golden State’s fans will begin to see a new era in The Bay.

Jonathan Kuminga will become a starter and replace Draymond Green in the starting five, which took some fans by storm. Mainly speculating if this is due to Green’s production; however, according to Kerr, it’s to give rest to Green and more minutes for the upcoming player.

During their loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Kuminga had officially replaced the veteran in the starting lineup. This isn’t going anywhere.

“The idea is we are trying to make the most of Jonathan’s ability to get downhill, get him more time …we are searching for ways to get those guys more involved and not wear down Draymond and Steph [Curry],” said Kerr after the game.

Now, is the 34-year-old okay with this massive change? Whether shocking or not, he is very okay with it.

“Of course, I’m OK with it. I have been one of JK’s biggest fans since he’s been here. And so if he has an opportunity to start, you can’t be hypocritical … I’m a starter in the NBA. I know that. But if it’s something to try to help this team win, I’m always going to be for it,” said Green.

As long as it benefits the team and gives Kuminga a chance to explode onto the scene, then he is all for it.

This season, the 22-year-old averages 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 20 games.
