The Utah Jazz have some TERRIFIC news ahead of them!
Man, oh, man the time has come for Utah to return to their former selves. Truly, as this has been a rough stretch for this franchise. Hasn’t? The team has gone 2-6 without Donovan Mitchell, plus, to make matters worse, for the past five they didn’t have Gobert either.
Roughness all the way around, but the good news? Donovan Mitchell is expected back after clearing concussion protocol, the better news? Tomorrow, Friday, that is the scheduled return for the superstar guard. That will be a home game against the Brooklyn Nets.
But what’s better than just having one great player back?
Two. That’s the correct answer as Rudy Gobert is expected to make his return, since hurting his calf, come this Monday. Talk about terrific news.
To put into perspective how significant this is, Utah is 25-11 with both of starters are playing. However, when not playing, Utah is 3-11 in the past 14 games. Ugly, ugly breakdowns and slumps that should be snapped once these two players return.
Monday night was a horrific scene to watch with the Utah Jazz’s promising power forward suffering what looked to be a snapped leg.
It was a non-contact injury where after he was done running, Hendrick’s fell to the ground with his leg visibly broken.
According to multiple reports, confirmed by Utah, the 20-year-old suffered a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle. This was found out after being stretchered out of the arena and to the hospital.
The Utah Jazz are twelve days out from their season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies, which is good and bad when considering Keyonte George’s latest injury.
According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, George will get an MRI done on his left knee Friday to determine the severity and hopefully have a concrete timeline.
During Thursday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, the 20-year-old suffered a mild knee sprain. However, Utah is optimistic that he won’t miss significant time and can be ready by October 23rd.
George averaged 13.0 points, 4.4 assists, and 2.8 rebounds during his rookie season.
According to Senior NBA Insider Chris B. Haynes, the Utah Jazz has made the decision to pick up the fourth-year option of Will Hardy’s contract.
While the 36-year-old coach has yet to have a winning season in Utah, management believes he is doing a great job and is in no rush to make a drastic coaching change. They trust his process for however long it takes.
It should be noted that Hardy is the second youngest head coach in the National Basketball Association; the first would be Boston Celtics Joe Mazzulla.
