According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Jimmy Butler has limited to no mobility to play basketball due to the glute contusion injury he suffered in Game 2.
This muscle contusion continues to deal with “significant swelling,” which has forced him to sit out Game 3’s win against the Houston Rockets.
With Butler out, Jonathan Kuminga has seen some playing time. Quinten Post has also seen more time alongside Kuminga and Draymond Green.
“He basically has no mobility and it’s not just about playing through pain or taking painkilling shots,” said Shams Charania. “He literally cannot move well enough to play basketball tonight for the Warriors. And, remember, this is someone that has played through a grade 2 MCL spring for three quarters last season in the playoffs. The Warriors are now hopeful for Game 4 on Monday potentially for Jimmy Butler to actually play.”
Golden State remains optimistic the savvy veteran will be available for Monday’s Game 4, which takes place in Golden State. His status remains up in the air.
