Warriors to approve four-team trade

The Warriors made headlines after almost rejecting the trade when the injury report came out that Gary Payton II would need more time to heal his injury, but why almost cancel the trade due to an injury? Golden State believed the Portland Trail Blazers withheld information regarding the health of the player.

Long story short, they accepted the trade before the Sunday deadline. There was a lot of uncertainty about if they were going to accept the trade, which would have affected everyone involved in the trade.

But, in the end, the Hawks get Saddiq Bey, the Warriors get Gary Payton II, the Pistons get James Wiseman, and the Blazers get five second-rounders and Kevin Knox.

After a few days of uncertainty, the deal is finally completed.

Jalen Suggs Signs $150 Million Extension With Magic

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Orlando Magic and Jalen Suggs have come together for a three-year contract. The deal is worth $150.5 million.

There is no player or team option included in this deal, as Suggs is the fifth player to get an extension coming out of the 2021 draft.

The 23-year-old has been vocal about staying in Orlando and not changing teams. Orlando’s Media Day was the most recent time Suggs was vocal about his contract situation.

Last season was his best and most consistent season. Suggs averaged 12.6 points (career-high), 3.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 steals in 75 games.

In previous seasons, he was plagued by injury. However, as demonstrated last season, Suggs is a valuable asset to Orlando when not riddled with injuries.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Jalen Green has signed a $106 million extension with the Houston Rockets. It has been inked for three years.

This deal will see Green make $33.3 million in the first year and $36 million in the second and third years as well. A player option has been attached to the end of this deal.

The 22-year-old is the first player to negotiate a 2-plus-1 rookie extension on a nine-figure deal. This isn’t atypical behavior from Green, as he’s also the first-ever G League player to sign an NBA contract straight out of the draft.

Last season, in all 82 games, Green averaged 19.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 31.7 minutes.

In separate but related news, Houston has extended Alperen Sengun to a five-year, $185 million deal.

Alperen Sengun Signs $185 Million Extension With Rockets

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the Houston Rockets and rising star Alperen Sengun agreed to a contract worth $185 million.

He will make roughly $37 million a year for the next five years, which sees him having a player option in his fifth season.

The 22-year-old had a massive jump in his third season with Houston; Sengun averaged 21.1 points (career-high), 9.3 rebounds (career-high), 5.0 assists (career-high), and 1.2 steals (career-high).

Houston also extended Jalen Green to a three-year, $106 million contract.
