According to the team, the Phoenix Mercury and Mat Ishbia will open their new $70 million practice facility. Not only is this headlining news regarding the high-tech facility but how they are also honoring Diana Taurasi.
The 42-year-old is a Phoenix legend. She’s made the team better and had a fantastic Hall-of-Fame career. Taurasi is a three-time champion, six-time Olympian, 2009 MVP, and eleven-time All-Star. Her career is nothing short of iconic.
That is why Mercury is naming both of its courts after Taurasi, who will also get a customized logo that tributes to the WNBA legend.
Even though she is the oldest player in the league, Taurasi shows no sign of slowing down. She’s averaging 16.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 19 appearances.
