Clipper’s owner wasn’t alone in making the decision to fire Rivers! Reports have been coming off the shelves lately as Rivers was fired by the Clippers since blowing a 3-1 to the Nuggets in the Semi-Conference Finals.
New reports have come out to say that Ballmer, Clipper’s owner, wasn’t the only one to make the decision. He first had to run this through his star players. That would have been Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.
Since blowing that 3-1 lead that the Clippers had, Ballmer had enough. He has been on the phone all week trying to figure out what to do with Doc Rivers. He has talked to the team’s POBO, Lawerence Frank, and Consultant, Jerry West. Then finally went to some of the players, which were George and Leonard.
Now, let’s remember that it was being reported that neither of the players had said much to change the mind of the Clipper’s owner. With that said, they could have tried to talk him out of firing Rivers. But we will never know now as he is gone and is now looking into the Philly head coaching job.
People are speculating right now that the other reasons why he was let go was because of his comments and attitude. Because he made remarks/comments after blowing a 3-1 lead over the Nuggets, that didn’t help his case.
Another thing that could have been factoring in would be that was his second time blowing a 3-1 lead over a team in the postseason, he actually did it before the Clippers when he was on another team.
