Kelly Oubre is being shipped off by OKC!

Kelly Oubre is being shipped off by OKC! Yep, you read that correctly. The Warriors will be trading for Kelly Oubre in exchange, they will be giving up a protected 2021 first round draft pick.

The reason why this 2021 draft pick is protected is due to the fact that if the Warriors finish between the 21st and 30th; then the OKC Thunder will be given that first-round pick. Now if they end somewhere around the 20th spot; then they give OKC two second-round picks. With it being in 2021, the Warriors will give them that pick next season.

The deal was mainly fueled by the Warriors learning that their top star, Klay Thompson, will be out for the remainder of the season with an Achilles tear. The injury happened yesterday during pick up games.

With Oubre being with Golden State now, this will fill the position of small forward (most likely). Kelly Oubre was in that blockbuster trade involving OKC and the Suns.

Here is what Bob Myers has to say on Klay Thompson and filling that position:

“We got this news and we found ourselves with a hole at a position that we can’t find many better guys to fill than a Klay Thompson,” Myers said. “So now we write our board up and under the 2-guard position we had a blank space — after processing that, the league’s now waiting for us. We got to do what we got to do. So we’re exploring a lot of different things.”

“We’re going to keep looking at what we can do and filling that position and try to get the best player we can,” Myers said. “Nothing’s done as far as [an Oubre agreement] or anything yet but we got to look hard and look fast. I probably shouldn’t even be up here [at this news conference]. I should not even be doing this right now, but I got some great guys I work with that are working right now on what we can do. And so we got to fill that position and give our fans and our organization and all the people that support us the best chance to win next year that we can.”

Kelly Oubre was originally selected by the Washington Wizards in the 2015 NBA Draft. The 15th overall pick is showing off and is improving quite nicely; for example, last season, Oubre was scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds for the Phoenix Suns.

Kelly Oubre Expected To Return Wednesday

After suffering broken ribs on November 11th, Kelly Oubre is expected to return to the Philadelphia 76ers lineup against the Washington Wizards.

Oubre has spoken on the situation and said an ongoing investigation was initiated after the police failed to recover video of the car incident.

Even Nick Nurse has touched on this subject and has confirmed to fans that Oubre will be back into the lineup and “probably fire him back in there” for Wednesday’s game.

OKC-Suns making trades happen!

OKC-Suns making trades happen! The ageless “Point God” is back and he is heading to Phoenix. News has been breaking loose since this afternoon when the Suns-OKC made the first ground-breaking trade since the transaction wire was opened.

This trades includes so many players and a draft pick. The OKC will receive Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, 2022 first-round draft pick, and Jalen Leque. The Suns will receive Chris Paul and Abdel Nabder. One’s a future hall of fame guard… the other I have no idea. But hey, at least you got a HOF guard.

The Suns are finally bringing support for Devin Booker, two key players of the team. This team will be very scary with DBook, Paul, and DeAndre Ayton. This Western Conference could have challenges with the Suns being in it. The Suns have tons of momentum ahead of them since the 8-0 run in the NBA Bubble.

You can say that Chris Paul was consumed by the plague throughout his career with injuries and setbacks; but the plague of injuries stopped last season when he became OKC’s top man. Because of the three-guard system, his backup crew, and his leadership. They had an improbable playoff run.

What this means for the Suns is amazing, they have to capitalize on this. If they do, make it to the playoffs, they can retain him and make a duo between him and Booker. A lot is riding upon this working because this is a make or break season for the Suns because he wants to be with a contending team; but if they have a winning season and/or going to the post season, he will stay. But imagine what this trio can do: Booker, Paul, and Ayton.

With that trade speaking itself into existence, this is the second trade of the day for the NBA. This is the second trade for the OKC. Trades are kicking off, teams are taking action, and the NBA Draft is this Wednesday.
