According to Marc Stein, Boban Marjanovic is taking his talents international for the upcoming basketball season with Europe’s Fenerbahce.
While the details of his contract aren’t known publicly, Marjanovic can return to the NBA for a brief period in December.
The 36-year-old has spent nine seasons in the NBA, as his most notable runs were with the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets.
Before joining the San Antonio Spurs for the 2015-16 season, he played in Europe in their 2014-15 season. That season would be the last time he played overseas until now.
For those curious, Fenerbahce is located in Turkey.
According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets are interested in trading for Isaac Okoro.
Okoro signed a three-year, $38 million extension with Cleveland on September 14th for those who don’t remember. That’s important to note because Charlotte and Brooklyn were both interested in him before the deal was even signed.
Now that it is signed, it can be an official sign-and-trade for the 23-year-old wing.
Both teams need an energetic, athletic wing player to complement their roster. Last season, Okoro averaged 9.4 points off 49.0% from the field and 39.1% from deep.
Another offseason, another year of speculation on whether or not LeBron James will announce his retirement. Amidst all that, an NBA insider has revealed some important details about an whenever-announced LeBron retirement.
According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, LeBron James will not choose the Tim Duncan way of retiring by simply announcing to the world he is hanging up the sneakers after the season has concluded. Instead, James will be taking the Kobe Bryant route.
The Kobe route means having a farewell tour for an entire NBA season known before that upcoming season.
“And I think when it’s the final march of LeBron, perhaps final March rather than Last Dance, we’re all going to know. We’re all going to know and it’s going to be must see TV. It’s going to be the LeBron tour coming to town throughout the 28 NBA cities culminating in a spectacular farewell.”
McMenamin continues by saying that LeBron isn’t going to announce it, and that’s it; it will be a whole show.
“This isn’t going to be one of those things where after the season he says, ‘By the way, that was the last [season].’ He is going to want to dance or march his way out of the NBA.”
While no one knows when the 39-year-old will retire, fans do know that it will be planned out and that he will be celebrated for an entire season.
