According to multiple reports, the Atlanta Hawks are making it one of their top priorities to bring Caris LeVert back on a multi-year extension.

LeVert has publicly stated he would love to re-sign with the franchise, going to the lengths of saying he loves “this situation that I’m in right now.”

He is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer’s offseason. However, for Atlanta, they would love to keep him after the incredible job he did after he was acquired through the De’Andre Hunter trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With LeVert’s ability to be able to play either guard or wing, plus be able to play-make with Trae Young off the court, he has found a legit role within the Hawks’ organization.

The Hawks have his full Bird rights, which means Atlanta can re-sign him to whatever contract is deemed fair. They have $39 million to use before hitting the Luxury Tax; an incredible benefit to have as that’s before having to re-sign and extend players.

This will allow them enough money to get a deal done with the 30-year-old. A quick side-note, the highest LeVert has ever earned per season was $17.5 million. This was during his three-year, $52.2 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets during 2020-22.

His last contract he has completed was a two-year, $32 million deal. It’s not certain what the exact numbers will look like, but it’s estimated to be in that $30-$50 million range over two-to-three years.

With Chris Paul set to hit free agency, officially completing his one-year contract with the San Antonio Spurs, he is now deciding whether he wants to continue playing basketball or retire to become more of a family man.

Despite him preparing himself mentally and physically to play next season, the 40-year-old has made it clear he is putting his wife and children first in whatever decision he makes. He has made it known he has no answers to anything relating to his future in the NBA.

Paul’s family is in Los Angeles, which could prompt him to relocate his talents to the west coast to be closer to them. He admitted publicly that he has been away from his family for six seasons, which has taken a toll on him mentally. The veteran point guard has expressed how he can’t get that time back with his loved ones.

“It’s with my family more than anything,” Paul said. “My son just turned 16. My daughter is 12. The past six seasons, I’ve lived without them. I go to San Antonio, Phoenix, Golden State — they were in Houston with me — Oklahoma City… I’ve been around a few teams, but I’ve been away from them the last six years. It’s a little different. That’s the conversation.”

“Well, I don’t think I want to play for a while,” Paul said. “I’m being honest with you — I want to be Dad. I still love to play. I was up in the gym at 6 am this morning. Yesterday, I was in the gym. Day before, I was in the gym. It’s crazy. You know, my daughter actually hoops now, so before I flew out here, I was in the gym with her for 20 minutes. With kids, sometimes you gotta do short sessions, so I was in 20 minutes doing ball handling with her, and it was priceless. You don’t get that time back.”

According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Sacramento Kings have shown interest in signing Tyus Jones after finding themselves in a need of a true point guard.

Sacramento has been exploring the idea of a true rebuild to become a legit playoff contender since last season’s trade deadline. It began with De’Aaron Fox being traded and Zach LaVine being brought into the organization.

To further this team, Sacramento’s front office finds it important to get a true point guard to lead their team and not that have that solely focused on players like LaVine.

Other reports have suggested that nobody is safe on the Kings, as the up-and-down organization is willing to take offers on LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Domantas Sabonis either during the offseason or leading up to next season’s trade deadline.

The Kings finished the season with a 40-42 record, which placed them with the ninth seed. They had a quick Play-In exit, as the Dallas Mavericks beat them 120-106. During the season, fans were shocked to see the Kings fire former head coach Mike Brown and former franchise player De’Aaron Fox.

In this year’s draft, Sacramento does not own a first-round pick. The only pick they have in this upcoming year’s draft is the 42nd pick of the second round.
