Zion Williamson aggravates hamstring injury

It turns out that the Pelicans won’t be getting back their former first-overall pick after the All-Star break. Reports came out that he will be sidelined for a few more weeks after reinjuring his hamstring.

This is extremely disappointing for the fanbase and the team to hear as he won’t be back for a very long time. Ultimately, in the end, this is not something people were expecting.

Williamson has yet to play a full season – or over 70 games – yet in his career. He has been a failure due to injuries, but the team is hoping for the best when he returns.

Kevin Durant Is Expected To Sign Extension With Rockets Before Opening Night

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, there is great “optimism” that an extension will be reached between the two sides being Opening Night of the NBA.

Rich Kleiman, Kevin Durant’s business manager, has been in “constant communication about a long-term contract extension” with Houston. Durant continues to voice his opinion privately and publicly about signing a new deal with the Rockets.

“I do see myself signing a contract extension,” Durant said. “I can’t tell you exactly when that will happen, but I do see it happening.”

The 37-year-old is eligible to sign a two-year deal worth over $120 million.

“I’m told there is optimism about a deal getting done before the start of the regular season,” said Charania.

Durant is currently on an expiring contract making $55 million for this upcoming season.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Erik Spoelstra is set to replace Steve Kerr as the next head coach of Team USA for 2027 and 2028.

In 2027, the United States will be apart of the World Cup in Qatar. In 2028, they’ll also be in the Olympics in Los Angeles.

Kerr had a short run being Team USA’s coach, as he only served from 2022 to 2024. During their 2024 run to win gold in the Olympics, Spoelstra was the lead assistant under Kerr.

The injury bug has struck again for Nikola Topic, as, according to multiple reports, he has undergone testicular surgery that will force him out of action for 4-6 weeks.

This comes after a Sunday preseason showing of him putting up ten points and seven assists in 31 minutes for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The procedure happened on Monday for the former 12th overall pick of the 2024 NBA draft.

Topic, who is 20-years-old, sat out the entire 2024-25 season due to recovering from a torn ACL he suffered ahead of the draft.
