According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, confirmed by the Houston Rockets, Steven Adams will be out for the rest of the season due to undergoing season-ending ankle surgery on his his left ankle.

Last week, Adams was ruled out with a Grade 3 ankle sprain. The injury happened during their matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The 32-year-old getting injured leaves the Rockets weakened at their center position; another position they must try to fix during their quest to make a run for the NBA title this season. Center and point guard are two of the biggest holes for this organization.

This season, Adams averaged 5.8 points and 8.6 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game. He was a big part of their bully ball identity, as his unmatched physicality is what gave him an edge over his opponents.

In June of last year, Houston signed Adams to a three-year, $39 million contract.

According to Marc Stein, the San Antonio Spurs have given Jeremy Sochan permission to look for a new home, as the trade deadline is this upcoming February 5th.

It’s unclear what his market is shaping up to look like, but this has been a career-low for the 22-year-old.

In only 27 games this season, career-low 13.1 minutes per game, Sochan is averaging 4.2 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Both those numbers are also career lows. On top of that, Sochan is shooting 25.7% from three. 

Despite the Spurs being second in the Western Conference, having a 31-15 record, Sochan still wants out.

According to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Evan Mobley has suffered a left calf strain and will be sidelined for one-to-three weeks. Mobley suffered the injury during Monday’s victory against the Orlando Magic.

In December, the 24-year-old missed five games after suffering a Grade 1 calf strain.

This season, Mobley has been a key part of Cleveland’s offensive and defensive production. His on-the-court impact consists of 17.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game.

The Cavaliers are fifth in the Eastern Conference, sitting at 28-20 on the season.
