BIG trade involving Russell Westbrook COMPLETED
News broke today that a massive three-team deal was set to be done and expanded from being just the Lakers and Jazz to being the Lakers, Jazz, and Timberwolves.
Here is what each team received in this trade:
- Lakers: D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, & Jarred Vanderbilt
- Jazz: Russell Westbrook & a 1-round pick
- Timberwolves: Mike Conley Jr. & 2nd-round picks
Russell Westbrook is expected to be bought out of his contract and free to sign with any team he chooses, those teams being who? The Bulls, Clippers, Heat, and Hornets are all names that should be kept an eye on.
This deal was later updated to include Juan Toscano-Anderson and Damian Jones to Jazz, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker to the Timberwolves.
With Westbrook gone, the only other public player on the trade block is Patrick Beverley. Los Angeles has a very interesting decision to make regarding the future of the defensemen.
Before this trade became official, reports came out of the Lakers and Jazz wanting to complete this deal before the 3 PM ET deadline. Not only did they do that, but they found a third team that added more pieces to the deal.
We will update you all once Russell Westbrook gets bought out.
